Coronavirus Updates And Client Social Distancing Policy

Nationwide, the immigration offices including San Antonio are currently closed until at least April 7, 2020. The biometrics offices are also closed until at least April 7, 2020 as well. Anyone with a biometrics appointment or interview in San Antonio will have their appointments automatically rescheduled for a later date, probably in May or June. All American consulates and embassies, including the one in Ciudad Juarez are closed indefinitely. If you have an upcoming interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico in March or April, do not go, your case will be automatically rescheduled.

I’d like everyone to know that my office is still open normal hours, from 9:00am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday. I’m in the office on most days, and my employees are there every day as well. We are listed as an essential business under the city of Austin lockdown order. We are practicing social distancing in the office and with clients, so anyone that comes to the office will be safe. Part of our social distancing policy means that clients usually do not come into the office. Our social distancing policy for our clients is the following:

  1. Clients park in the parking lot and call the office. In most cases we will have your paperwork ready and we will meet you at the front door or we will walk out to your car and have you sign paperwork from your car.
  2. If there are any documents to leave us, we will take those from you at the front door and make the copies we need and return the original documents to you.
  3. If you have any questions about your case, please call us. If you need to come by to pick up your work permit or permanent resident card, call us from the parking lot and we’ll bring it to you at the front door or to your car.
  4. All consultations are being done over the phone for at least the next few weeks. I am taking new clients right now. Although immigration offices throughout the United States are closed to the public, their employees are still reporting for work and working on cases, so we are still filing cases with the immigration office every day. If you want to start a new case, we can help you. I also understand that the economy is suffering as a result, so I am offering very flexible payment plans to start cases. Please let us know your situation and we will work with you to file your case on a plan you can afford.

Please let us know if you have any questions, practice social distancing, stay home if you feel sick, and stay safe.

Juan
